ProFusion Expo 2025 drew thousands of photographers, filmmakers and content creators to downtown Toronto on November 5–6. Billed as “Canada’s largest photo and video event”profusionexpo.com, ProFusion is a two-day tradeshow that showcases the latest imaging technologies for both professionals and hobbyists. This year’s Expo at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre featured Canadian premieres of new cameras, lenses, lighting rigs and audio gearprofusionexpo.com. The event lives up to its reputation as a gathering spot for the industry’s leading creatives: organizers describe it as “the epicentre of Canada’s imaging industry” where pros and emerging creators come together to “connect, create and get ahead of the curve”profusionexpo.comprofusionexpo.com.
The bustling show floor at MTCC Hall B was evidence of ProFusion’s appeal. All of the major camera and video vendors were present – “with all of their latest equipment available to play with”oldgirlphotography.ca – and the hall was “jam-packed with stuff, a feast for the eyes and wallet”oldgirlphotography.ca. According to the organizers, thousands of enthusiasts attended, reinforcing why ProFusion is considered “the must-attend event in Canada” for imaging professionals and serious amateursprofusionexpo.comprofusionexpo.com. As one blog review noted after the 2024 show, the Expo may occupy “just one floor” now, but its crowd of engaged visitors clearly shows that in-person demos remain irreplaceableoldgirlphotography.caoldgirlphotography.ca.

Major Brands and Exhibitors
ProFusion is known for attracting the industry’s biggest names, and 2025 was no exception. International brands including Canon, Sony, Nikon, Fujifilm and DJI each had dedicated booths on the showroom floorprofusionexpo.com. (Sigma, Tamron, Panasonic and other optics companies were also represented.) For example, Canon Canada – a gold sponsor – staffed a large exhibit where visitors could explore its latest EOS cameras, cinema rigs and printerscanon.cacanoncreatorlab.ca. Similar pavilions by Sony, Nikon and Fujifilm showcased their full lines of mirrorless cameras and lenses, and DJI demonstrated new drones and gimbals. One ProFusion preview even highlighted that Sigma’s compact fp camera, Fujifilm’s 102MP GFX medium-format sensor and other high-end gear were featured at past exposprofusionexpo.com, underscoring the event’s role as a launchpad for cutting-edge tech. In all, over 200 exhibitors and more than 40 speakers took part in the 2025 expoprismpm.ca, ranging from major manufacturers to niche accessory makers and local photo-video retailers.
New Products and Live Demos
A key draw of ProFusion is the chance to experience new products first-hand. Many exhibitors used the Expo to debut or preview gear in Canada. Canon’s booth (#2015), for instance, invited attendees to “test-drive the latest Canon gear, including cameras, lenses, and accessories”canoncreatorlab.ca. Live studio setups let visitors try the new EOS C50 cinema camera and the EOS R5 Mark II and R8 stills camerascanoncreatorlab.ca. There was even a printing station where attendees could take home a complimentary printcanoncreatorlab.ca. Nikon similarly ran in-booth demos of its mirrorless Z-series cameras and cinema models, and Sony’s Alpha team showcased the latest α7 and α1 models on loan. Fujifilm gave visitors a chance to compare its X Series APS-C cameras alongside the medium-format GFX system, while DJI set up a “fly zone” demo area for its newest drones and stabilized camera rigs. Throughout the halls, brand ambassadors and engineers were on hand answering questions, helping users put gear through its paces before purchases. (Canon’s prints and Fujifilm’s large-format galleries were especially popular – attendees could see high-resolution images output in real timecanon.cacanoncreatorlab.ca.)
Interactive Booths and Installations
Beyond product demos, ProFusion offered many interactive and hands-on experiences. Canon’s display included two collaborative studio setups where attendees could pose for portrait and product shoots using new Canon cameras and lightingcanon.ca. These green-screen photo booths and demo studios let visitors engage directly with the equipment, effectively acting like professional photobooth experiences. Other vendors ran similar live-studio or “selfie” stations – for example, a rugged Nikon portrait studio, a Fujifilm stage with backlit film screens, and a DJI flight simulator corner. Many booths also featured visual installations: LED lighting showcases (e.g. a LEDGo booth lighting a make-shift photo set) and immersive video walls demonstrated the gear’s capabilities in context. Photo printing was a constant theme: Canon’s print gallery (powered by imagePROGRAF printers) could produce a fine-art print in under 10 minutescanon.ca, and on the show floor portable photo printer stations let users instantly print demo shots – much like a retro photobooth that spits out prints on demand. These experiential elements – from live demos to interactive displays – kept attendees engaged and highlighted real-world uses of the gear.
Industry Impact and Relevance
ProFusion Expo’s breadth makes it uniquely relevant to the entire visual media and photobooth ecosystem. It brings together photographers, videographers and event-imaging professionals in one place. As the organizers note, “if you make your living behind the lens – or in front of it – … this is where you sharpen your edge, expand your network and experience what’s next”profusionexpo.comprofusionexpo.com. The show has long been regarded as a “critical launch pad for new creative technologies” in Canadaprofusionexpo.com, and it continues to nurture the country’s imaging community. Industry influencers (youTubers and camera ambassadors) gave masterclass presentations on topics like lighting techniques and storytelling, emphasizing that the event is as much educational as commercial. From the perspective of photobooth service providers, ProFusion remains valuable because it highlights the tools of the trade – cameras, lenses, lighting and printer tech – that photobooths rely on. (Indeed, many photobooth operators run DSLR or mirrorless setups with green screens, sound systems and instant printing – all areas heavily featured at ProFusion.) The collaborative, creative environment and networking opportunities make the expo “the epicentre of Canada’s imaging industry”profusionexpo.com, connecting the dots between traditional photography and emerging content-creation trends.
Expo Scale and Attendance
ProFusion Expo 2025 showed its scale in the numbers. Organizers reported over 200 exhibiting brands and more than 40 sessions (main-stage talks and in-booth workshops) across the two-day programprismpm.ca. The North Building’s Hall B was fully utilized, with dozens of booths and demo areas. The event’s free admission policy, combined with exclusive “expo only” deals (through sponsors like Vistek and KEH), helped draw a large crowd – one in which “hundreds of people [were] there” every houroldgirlphotography.ca. In total, the 2025 edition attracted thousands of visitors, continuing the Expo’s tradition of strong attendanceprofusionexpo.comprofusionexpo.com.
ProFusion Expo 2025 once again affirmed its status as Canada’s premier photo/video trade show. By uniting established brands and innovative newcomers under one roof, showcasing new products and hands-on experiences, and gathering the creative community in an inspiring setting, the event underscored why it’s a highlight of the imaging industry calendarprofusionexpo.comprofusionexpo.com.
